People come to the practice of Zen Buddhism for many reasons. Perhaps we would like to improve our physical, mental, and psychological well-being. Some come to practice to deepen and strengthen the basis of another discipline–such as music, art, or sports. For some, Zen meditation is a way to deepen their practice of another faith tradition. We may be drawn to practice because of our own suffering–whether it be an unexpected shift in our lives, the death of someone close, a health crisis, or simply the feeling of dissatisfaction and a sense that there is a deeper appreciation of life that we are missing. Some practice to address the profound suffering they see in the world around them. And some of us practice simply because it feels like what we should do with our life. You may find that one or more of these reasons describes what has brought you here. Whatever brought you, we are glad that you have come and are honored to walk beside you on this part of your journey.
