Service Role: Assist with Community Garden
Frequency/Time Commitment: Two Saturday mornings in May to get the garden in shape and start planning. Then, any Monday or Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 PM during the summer to assist with weeding and keeping the garden in shape.
Training Needed: None
Location of Work: Community Garden next to Palatine Fire Department, 1475 N. Hicks Rd., Palatine, IL

Service Role: Instructor/Tutoring in Community School
Frequency/Time Commitment: POC operates a Community School which offers, among others things, enrichment and tutoring to students. Also, special classes can be done with their middle school-age population, typically one time per week on a specific topic (e.g. music lessons, mindfulness instruction, etc) for one hour for a limited number of weeks (e.g. 6 weeks). The program does not run in the summer but runs from October through May.
Training Needed: None other than expertise in the content for the class you would be teaching or supporting / Conducting a class would have to be approved through Rachel well in advance.
