Volunteer role: Court watch volunteer. Be present at immigration court to show we are watching and to be supportive of detainees (who attend via video monitor).
Frequency/Time Commitment: Once per week (M,T,Wed or Thurs 9-12 or 1-4)
Special skills needed: supportive, observant
Training needed: Yes, program director and volunteer arrange time for training to take place.
Location of work: Federal bldg, downtown Chicago

Volunteer role: Jail visitation ministry volunteer.
Visit people in immigration detention in teams
Frequency/Time Commitment: One day per month: McHenry County Jail, Woodstock (Tuesday), Kankakee Deportation Center (Wed.), Kenosha County Detention Center (Thursday), Dodge Detention Facility, Juneau, WI (Saturday)
Special skills needed: Supportive presence. Kankakee is greatest need right now because new.
Training needed: Yes, program director and volunteer arrange time for training to take place.
Location of work: At the jail or detention center depending on which day of week.

Volunteer role: Kankakee deportation center volunteer.
Be there for people who are being deported.
Frequency/Time Commitment: One Friday per month (will be same Fri each month) 5-10AM (varies)
Special skills needed: Bilingual (spanish)
Training needed: Yes, program director and volunteer arrange time for training to take place.
Location of work: Kankakee detention center.

Volunteer role: House of hospitality volunteer.
Hang out with people living there while awaiting future court dates or work permits. These are folks who have been released from detention, but don't have family or friends to take them in, so the Marie Joseph House of Hospitality provides them a temporary place to stay.
Frequency/Time Commitment: One 4-hour shift on a Saturday or Sunday per month.
Special skills needed: Good communication skills
Training needed: Yes, program director and volunteer arrange time for training to take place,
Location of work: Hyde Park (women and families), Cicero (men)
