About the Artist:

Tiokasin is from the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation of South Dakota and the bands of Itazipco/Mnicoujou and Oglala. He recently received a Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016 for his work with The International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy and is the host of FIrst Voices Indigenous Radio on WBAI NY-Pacifica Radio. He’s been described as "a spiritual agitator, natural rights organizer, Indigenous thinking process educator and a community activator." He is a master musician and one of the great exponents of the ancient red cedar Lakota flute; Tiokasin performs worldwide and has been featured at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at the United Nations.
