Myoshinji

Located in rural Green County, Wisconsin, Myoshinji (Subtle Mind Temple) is our newly acquired residential training center. Situated on approximately 3 acres, Myoshinji overlooks meadows and trees, pathways, and a Jizo garden.

At the present time, the living quarters have been remodeled and updated to comfortably accommodate sesshin and zazenkai participants. Handicapped access and accommodations have also been added and plans to build raised gardens and an expanded training hall (zendo) are in the works.

We hope you will join us for one of our many retreats this year at Myoshinji. You may also be interested in attending the Saturday Morning Zen program, held each week from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Usually hosted by the abbess of the temple, Susan Myoyu Andersen, Roshi, this program offers opportunities to learn Zen meditation (zazen), receive individual instruction from a Zen teacher, and participate in monastery work. New and experienced practitioners are welcome. Come as you are—there is no need to pre-register.

You are also welcome to join us for early morning and evening zazen, offered several times a week. For a full list of events at the temple, please see our calendar.
